Orange United is a club that provides opportunities that aim to bring together and build lasting connections between students of different abilities and disabilities, and is run through the Special Education department. Monthly meetings feature playing games and participating in team-building exercises. These past two weeks, members of the club have been helping plan the upcoming Orange United week. Junior and senior marketing students have been working to help celebrate Orange United too, showing off their creativity by submitting logo ideas to be featured on Orange United T-shirts. Top logos were compiled and voted on by students across multiple classes. Among the various unique logo concepts, there were a few that stood out as clear favorites. (Winner shown below)

During March, which is National Developmental Disabilities Month, there will be a spirit week lasting from Monday 3/18 to Friday 3/22. Themes include Monday “super-hero day,” Tuesday “orange and blue,” Wednesday “pajama day,” Thursday “crazy socks,” and Friday “united week t-shirts.” Other events during the week are detailed below
On Monday, a Special Olympics booth will be set up during all lunches and Michelle Motil will be the guest speaker 2nd, 3rd, 11th, and 12th period. On Tuesday, the School for the Blind band will be playing during all lunches and the Sheriff’s department will bring in therapy dogs during the day. On Wednesday, there are no events but the celebration goes on through participating in Pajama Day. On Thursday, there will be a Recreation Unlimited booth during all lunches and there will be Art Outside the Lines booth during all lunches. On Friday, the entire school will be present at a pep rally to celebrate a week of disability awareness. We look forward to a fun Orange United Week!
