The National Business Honor Society (NBHS) helps promote and recognize our dynamic students’ academic achievement in business education at OOHS. Our local chapter is an official, dues-paying division of NBHS, created and supported by the National Business Education Association (NBEA).

2021-22

Process:

Applicants meet qualifications, submit Membership Form & dues by deadline
- Current junior or senior
- 3.0 GPA (overall) + 3.5 GPA in business courses
- Current enrollment in or completion of third business course →

Jr Marketing = 1 course, Sr Mktg = 1 course, Economics does not count (Social Studies)

Approval applicants will receive an official welcome letter & be inducted in the fall
Members must complete the following to maintain “active status” at end of school year, qualifying for recognition at our spring ceremony
- Ten or more service hours; five or more must be club sponsored
- Six+ business club meetings and/or chapter sponsored events
- Maintain grades/GPA

**All dues serve as application fees. Failure to qualify/participate will not result in a refund.**

Welcome to year FOUR of the OOHS NBHS chapter! You can find info below, can send an email to teresa_gellenbeck@olsd.us or come see Mrs Gellenbeck in room #2006! Our KICKOFF informational meeting is Wednesday, October 7th from 2:40-3PM. Meeting dates will be finalized soon and are going to be on Wednesdays this year, with a “virtual” option to join.

2018-19

During year two of our chapter, we more than doubled our membership, accomplished a wide variety of service projects and had a LOT of fun! Induction was held in December and we had 31 inductees with most maintaining active status through out the school year.

Requirements for joining NBHS for the 2018-19 school year included:

Current junior or senior
Current enrollment in or completion of third business course – Junior Marketing & Senior Marketing count as TWO total, need to take one additional business elective.
GPA requirement // 3.0 GPA (overall) 3.5 GPA (business courses)
Complete three service hours + three business club activities by mid March. This year’s activities & service projects included…
- Regular club meetings (one-two per month)
- Heart Week with American Heart Association – week of Oct 15 and at the OOHS v Liberty game
- Holiday social + NBHS induction
- Making t-shirts via our Orange EntrepreNEERS Apparel Shop
- Valentine social
- Spring service projects //
  - Volunteered at M3S Sports St Patty’s Day 4 miler
  - Organized 3.21 World Down Syndrome Day events
