On the night of October 12th, 2024, students and parents from the district came together for a fun night and helped fundraise for ICDC DECA. The night was made even more special through a partnership with Little Ladies, who joined us till 9pm and served ice cream. Under the stars, families and friends huddled together in cozy blankets to watch Spider Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The sense of community was palpable as people from different schools gathered together for a cozy, memorable night.
Returning senior Jacksen B, the lead of this project, made a huge dedication to make this night happen. Behind the scenes, Jacksen met with Mr. Nash and communicated with our principal Ms. Monica Asher, as well as getting the projector set up through (projected company). Jacksen said the process was “kind of difficult because it was our first time doing something like this and we had to overcome a lot of things and send a lot of emails to staff.” Jacksen claimed the night ended up coming together pretty well, with about 150 people coming to support DECA and have a relaxing night. Returning senior and DECA President, Maithreyi M, stated “It was a good community event, especially for the first time running it, and I believe it was successful because when we asked for feedback from attendees, they said it was worth coming!”
Shout out to all our volunteers, including Mrs Julie Jenkins & Mrs Emily Bice, who helped make this event happen!
