The American Heart Association is a non-profit organization that has been working to save lives for over 90 years. Their goal is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and strokes. They are the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization committed to fighting heart disease. Their organization includes over 22.5 million volunteers and supporters. They use their scientific knowledge to advise certain treatments for others who are fighting heart disease. In 2008, over 616,000 people died of heart disease which is one of four deaths in America.
This week, on October 28th, we will be playing Westerville South at home for our senior night game. The theme for the game is going to be a RED OUT. We will be selling red shirts this week during lunches in the cafeteria and at the game by the entrance that should be worn to support the American Heart Association. All of the profits we make will be given to the American Heart Association.
OOHS has participated the last several years in this fundraiser and has raised over $3,000 since Mrs Gellenbeck’s students started organizing it in 2014. This year our goal is $1,000.
Please support us and the American Heart Association by buying a shirt or wearing red on Friday!
