After years without one, the students at Olentangy Orange High School brought back a vibrant and meaningful tradition: the Color Run! What started as an idea inspired by past events quickly turned into a full scale community experience that combined fun, inclusion, and a powerful cause!

The organizers of the event, Ellie Brombacher and Izzy Scholvin, shared that their inspiration came from participating in a color run back in 2016. Since the school hadn’t hosted one in years, they wanted to revive the event and create something “inclusive that people of all ages could participate in”.

Planning the event, however, was no small task. It took about two months of preparation, beginning in early September and leading up to the run in late October. One of the biggest challenges was getting people to sign up. Since many were unfamiliar with the new event, there was some hesitation and confusion about what a color run even was. The team worked through this by promoting the event through flyers, social media, school announcements, and word of mouth, and their efforts paid off!
