Olentangy Orange High School business students sold t-shirts to fundraise for the American Heart Association again this year. Since October 2014, when Mrs Gellenbeck took over this project, the business students have raised over $4,000 for the charity and this year, our goal was to raise over $1,000. Thanks to the hard work of business students, led by top fundraisers Shreya K & Luke C, we successfully met our goal and raised over $1,200!
For those who may not know, the American Heart Association (AHA) helps promote a healthy lifestyle in order to decrease the amount of deaths caused by cardiovascular diseases. There are annually 17, 500,000 deaths around the world, 80% of which are preventable. By 2025, they strive to reduce the amount of premature deaths by 25% internationally!
This year we also tied in WORLD HEART DAY, inspiring others to be heart healthy. We tweeted, Instagramed and some even snapped their heart selfies. We designed a custom logo for the front (with help from Art Club – thanks Mrs Forney!) that depicted a blue heart graphic & OOHS through the middle. Then on Sep 29, World Heart Day, we wore RED, promoted a great cause, raised money and had a lot of fun! Thanks to all those that supported and we hope you continue to take care of your heart!
